16 productsHow we select
Light is sized to the standard, not by counting lamps.
For a workshop, warehouse or office, the required illuminance is set first; then the number of luminaires is calculated from the floor area, mounting height and surface reflectance. That shows at once whether a quotation is double or half what is needed.
At home, light goes in layers: general, task and accent, with a colour temperature to suit the room. LED strip is selected together with its profile and a power supply with a 20 % margin.
- Office 300–500 lx on the desk at 4000 K
- Warehouse 75–200 lx in the aisles, 200–300 lx in the picking area
- LED strip power supply with a 20 % power margin

Colour temperature
One room. Five shades of white.
Colour temperature is the first thing agreed in a lighting specification. Move the slider: the same living room from 2700 to 6500 K.
Warm white
Like an incandescent lamp. Cosy light that invites you to slow down.
Where it worksBedroom, living room in the evening, night lights
Soft warm
Warm but clean. Wood and textiles stay natural, the evening stays calm.
Where it worksLiving room, dining table, hallway, hotels
Neutral
White without yellow or blue. Food colours, text and faces read well.
Where it worksKitchen, bathroom mirror, office, sales floor
Daylight
Like light by a window at midday. Energising and holds attention, but feels harsh in the evening.
Where it worksWorkshop, studio, study, service garage
Cool
A bluish tint and maximum contrast. Good for fine work and inspection, bad before sleep.
Where it worksWarehouse, garage, quality-control area

Calculation
Power supply for LED strip
Length × watts per metre × 1.2 — and the standard power-supply rating.
The 20 % margin is mandatory: at its limit a power supply runs hot and fails sooner. The supply voltage must match the strip — 12, 24 or 48 V.
How to choose a power supplyAbove 5 m of 12 V strip, feed from both ends or split into sections
